Hello, Chat Friends:

Our next chat session will take place on Wednesday, April 26 at:
3:00 p.m. Hawaii Time
5:00 p.m. Pacific Time
6:00 p.m. Mountain Time
7:00 p.m. Central Time
8:00 p.m. Eastern Time

Dial (712) 432-0800. Then enter access code 865672#

Before the chat, please take a look at the attached article. It originally appeared in the New York Times. I think it could be the basis for a fun discussion.

If you missed the last chat, you missed the following:
***Breaking news about a clinical trial for guaiacol. Hopes are to have the trial begin in about 6 months. The test site will be in Israel.

***Million Dollar Bike Ride Fundraiser is going into its final stretch: We have about $34,000 in the UPenn bank as of this moment. The University of Pennsylvania’s Orphan Disease Center matches all donations made to our team, up to $50,000. Last year we brought in $50K, so UPenn made research grants totaling $100K for APBD research. They announced the research opportunity, reviewed investigations that were proposed, and picked the strongest proposals for funding. UPenn monitors the progress of the research and requires a report on results at the end of 12 months. Very intense. Very focused. We should not leave money on the table! Please publicize. Please contribute.

***A followup on supplements, over-the-counter drugs, and prescriptions.

Looking forward to the 26th,
Harriet
